About My Site

This site is a place for me to share thoughts, art, and various trivia related mostly to my work. You won’t find much personal information about me here, other than what’s right on this page.

About Me

I work at a small software company building rich online shopping experiences. It’s named Allurent, and I am VP of Engineering there. I’m lucky to work with a bunch of really wonderful people with a lot of great ideas.

I was born on September 3, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. I currently reside in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

I’ve been programming since I was 9 years old. The first languages I learned were LOGO, LISP and FORTRAN. Lately I’ve been working mostly in Java and ActionScript.

I also like to write and improvise music. My higher education, such as it was, took place at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston where I studied piano.

I love to ride my mountain bike. New England has lots of wonderful rocky, hilly trails.
